Oh but the TeaPot!
As an herbalist, I drink a lot of tea in a day. Typically 3 quarts in fact! Let’s just say I am rarely dehydrated.
When I had cancer in 2021, I drastically reduced my soda consumption as sugar is one of the primary foods of cancer cells. I started drinking mostly water, but water alone gets boring.
Tea as a mechanism to get that water in provides so many benefits and tastes great. I leverage different tea blends as a way to nourish and support my body functions. My day typically starts with a quart of a ginger, lemon and cinnamon tea. The heat from the ginger is a “wake up call” to my digestive process and helps to flush the waste from my system. I really miss this one when I am out of it. The second quart is to support my allergies - which this time of year are a hot mess with everything starting to bloom. The third quart is my “just for fun” which can be tulsi, rose, hibiscus or lots of other options. Some of my tea blends are actually started the night before as it can take some herbs overnight to really extract all the goodness from the herb.
With all that aside, one of my obsessions is having a beautiful pot to put my tea in. Look at this beauty! She’s a vintage Sadler teapot from England. I haven’t named her yet, as she needs a flowery name that is still escaping me. Using her for my tea adds ceremony and intent to the process, which to me ups the game on the benefits of the tea. I encourage you as you start to explore the wonderful world of herbal teas and to welcome in a beautiful pot or two.
